Frontex, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency, has selected Adevex’s DRACO system as one of the top 5 proposals submitted to the C-UAS systems competition.

The competition aims to promote innovative solutions to counter unauthorized and unmanned aircraft activity at the EU’s external borders. Adevex submitted its DRACO wideband reactive jammer, fully developed by the company and based on SDR (Software Defined Radio) technology supported by AI techniques. The DRACO system was also selected by the Spanish Air and Space Force to provide protection for Air Bases within national territory.
As a result, Adevex advances to Phase 2, scheduled for October 2025, where it will compete with other solutions in live operational trials to assess the performance, effectiveness, and reliability of their technologies against UAS threats, including commercial and customized unmanned aircraft. This phase will conclude with a two-day workshop where the finalists will present their solutions to EBCG authorities, EU Member State representatives, and other stakeholders.
Frontex selected Adevex Soluciones’ proposal for being an innovative, effective, and efficient C-UAS solution, evaluated according to the rigorous Phase 1 award criteria: comprehensiveness, innovation capability, effectiveness, and efficiency. DRACO demonstrates a technical maturity above TRL 7 and is well aligned with the operational needs of the European Border and Coast Guard (EBCG), ready for deployment in real-world trials.
Frontex’s evaluation indicates that DRACO shows significant potential to address the capability gap in neutralizing unauthorized UAS threats—such as illicit surveillance and smuggling—thereby strengthening the secure and effective protection of the EU’s external borders.
